Will Ferrell
Will Ferrell
became famous as an actor on "Saturday Night Life". He later appeared
on numerous big-screen comedies like Elf,' Anchorman and "Talladega
nights. In 1967, in Irvine, California, Will Ferrell started his career in
comedy as an actor in the improv troupe based in Los Angeles, the Groundlings.
He was a Saturday Night Live cast member for seven years before becoming a huge
comedic draw with off-color shows, such as Old School 2003 and Anchorman: The
Legend of Ron Burgundy 2004. Ferrell was also co-founder of the video streaming
site Funny or Die and enjoyed success voice acting in animated films like
Megamind (2010). John William Ferrell was conceived in Irvine, California on
July 16, 1967. Will Ferrell was the oldest child of Righteous Brothers
keyboardist Lee Ferrell and teacher Kay Ferrell. He was, by his own admission
not the typical class clown while he was a University High School student. A
quiet and solitary person, Ferrell determined to leave his impression on the
football field and set the school record for the most field goals he scored.
Ferrell showed little of the bizarre, comical behavior that would define his
career and even at his suburban home. "Very even tempered, very
comfortable," his mother recalled in an interview with Esquire. "You
aren't you old enough to remember those Matchbox cars?" Will arrange his
Matchbox cars all by himself and be completely satisfied. You'd ask, 'Do you
want to visit Disneyland today or set up your cars?' It's a hard conversation
for him to contemplate. "That's not to say Ferrell was a total straight
guy. The hints of his comic skills showed up each morning at the high school
when he disguised himself in order to announce his daily activities via the PA
system. Ferrell was a graduate in 1986 and attended the University of Southern
California in Los Angeles. There he was part of the Delta Tau fraternity to
pursue a degree as an athlete journalist.
